Enjoy this look at San Francisco Ballet’s Dance in Schools and Communities (DISC) program. Established in 1979, DISC was created in response to an expressed need for arts instruction in the public schools that would also provide a means of access, education, and opportunity for students of diverse backgrounds. DISC currently provides a free hands-on ballet and world dance residency program to over 3,500 students in 38 San Francisco Unified School District elementary schools.

Includes interviews with the Director of Education and Training, Associate Director of the SF Ballet School, and Company member Sean Bennett, who received a scholarship to train at SF Ballet School after participating in a DISC residency at his elementary school.
