The Washington Ballet’s 2019.20 Season begins in the fall. Building on the excitement surrounding new creations, we introduce NEXTsteps, a program featuring world premieres from Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, John Heginbotham, and Jessica Lang.

After a month-long December run of Washington DC’s beloved The Nutcracker, TWB will perform works from two of the greatest 20th century choreographers, George Balanchine and Sir Frederick Ashton, in BALANCHINE + ASHTON, which will include three company premieres: Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, Birthday Offering, and Méditation from Thaïs, alongside Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante.

In April, we’ll spend two soaring weeks in The Kennedy Center performing a new staging of the iconic Swan Lake. Closing the season in May, we will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of The Washington School of Ballet with a charming new staging of the lively full length ballet, Coppélia.
