Five of the world’s leading ballet companies including The National Ballet of Canada will again come together for World Ballet Day on October 4, 2016. This year the live-stream via Facebook will go behind the scenes like never before showing more rehearsals, giving more interviews and greater insights.

The Australian Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, The Royal Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and San Francisco Ballet will again partner to provide viewers around the world with an inside look at professional ballet companies in the studio, on tour, and in performance.
Live from Toronto, The National Ballet of Canada’s stream features the company in rehearsal for Cinderella and Onegin, which open the 2016/17 season in November. Viewers can also enjoy a sneak peek at the world premiere of Pinocchio by Will Tuckett and watch Choreographic Associate Robert Binet working on a new creation for the Choreographic Workshop as well as interviews with Artistic Director Karen Kain and the dancers.
In addition to behind-the-scenes streaming from Melbourne, Moscow, London, Toronto and San Francisco, the day will feature pre-recorded footage from a range of regional dance organizations who are based close to the five companies. These companies include Boston Ballet and Miami City Ballet.
