better stamina for variations?

    My stamina sucks! I get so tired after even doing just a variation! Any help with tips would be great.. this is my first time taking variation class.

    Hi! Dont worry and take a deep breath lol! Everyone has to work on their stamina constantly. I know this sounds obvious but dancers, including me, forget to breath when they dance. Go through your variations and find places to really think about your breathing. In through your nose and out through your mouth!!

    you would think that by practicing everyday would be enough but its totally not! ballet is hard and tiring! maybe try running your variation not just once but twice and than when you just do it once after that it will feel better.

    thats what i do and it helps!

    Thats right! Sometimes I run things 3 times with just a couple minutes break in between for some corrections and it definitely helps!!

    You guys must be so good! But that does sound like it would work..I guess i just have to work up to that. And youre right! I dont really think about actually breathing when I dance.

    yeah breathing for sure helps lol! do you go to the gym at all? cause do some sort of cardio would be helpful too..like the elptical..

    I take a pilates class every now and then when they have it at my school but not really any kind of cardio workout i guess. my mom has one of those in the basement, ill have to check it out when i get home. i just never tried it before since my day is so full!
