The Academy of Russian Classical Ballet offers classes that follow the Vaganova syllabus. Students may choose to study a pre-professional track or a standard track of classes. The pre-professional track is geared for the student who aspires to a career in dance, while the standard track is geared for students who enjoy dance but do not necessarily aspire to make it their career. Students learn best in an environment in which they study with other students of similar abilities. For this reason, the Academy requires students over the age of 6 to take a placement class before enrolling. This enables the instructors to place the student in the class in which the student is most likely to be challenged but also happy and successful. Instructors will move a student to the next level only when the student is ready.
