The Metropolitan Ballet Academy (MBA) is a classical ballet school that combines professional dance expertise with sensitivity to children and the special needs of the young dancer. Metropolitan’s unique emphasis on performing and involving students in the creative process throughout their training curriculum sets us apart from other programs and is producing remarkable results. Recognized by Pointe magazine (November 2011) as “one of the top seven ballet studios in America producing major talent”, MBA is noted for its high-caliber faculty, rigorous performing schedule, alumni, and acclaimed Boys’ Scholarship Program. The Metropolitan Ballet Company (MBC) grew from programs initiated by MBA and is the first regional classical dance company in its community. We challenge dancers and audiences with a performance season that includes traditional and contemporary dance repertoire. Since its founding in 2001, MBC has added an astounding 45 works to its repertoire. These include the commission of 15 world premiere contemporary works and three world premiere story ballets for children, choreographed especially for MBC by noted choreographers from New York City and elsewhere.

We believe that our greatest contribution to ensuring classical dance as an art form is in training young dancers -- both female and male. We therefore provide both need and merit based scholarships to boys and girls. Please contact us if you are interested in scholarship opportunities.
