Mount Dora School of Ballet

“Teaching dancers to be the best that they can be” in a nurturing environment encompasses MDSB’s teaching philosophy. Although not all students will choose a career in dance, the very fact that they participated will give MDSB students life long memories and a great appreciation for the art. The discipline and commitment developed in the dance studio are tools they will carry to their future endeavors, whatever they may be. Students moving through the carefully planned curriculum are gaining technical proficiency in their ballet classes. Along with strong technique, students are developing poise and grace, overcoming shyness, learning to work with other dancers, developing self-discipline and gaining confidence in presenting themselves. MDSB dancers gain physical strength and are imbued with the spirit of excellence. The Mount Dora School of Ballet also provides an intensive level of study focused on a career in dance. In addition to our annual spring performance, MDSB enriches the community with outreach programs presenting lecture demonstrations in schools, performing with a live orchestra, in the holiday lighting of the town and other venues.
