Enrollment

Enrollment for Opus Performing Arts is for a Fall/Winter semester beginning Sept 1 and for a Winter/Spring semester beginning January 1. We also have summer classes, intensives, and camps.

We generally have a spring and winter performance.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available based on demonstrated financial need.

Amy Guerra Teacher

Amy GuerraTeacher

Amy has extensive classical ballet training, studying in her youth with the Joffrey Ballet, Maggie Black, Ballet West, Kansas City Ballet, Omaha Ballet and more. After an injury ended her ballet aspirations early in life, she is now passionate about teaching safe and proper ways to enjoy this place where movement meets art. She still enjoys taking classes herself from the wealth of local instructors, and is continually renewing her appreciation of what it is to be a student.

Brooke started studying ballet at the age of three in her hometown of Santa Fe, NM. Her dance education includes notable instructors such as Rex Bickmore and Daniel Catanach of Prince Ballet, Zola Dishong and Richard Cammack of The Contra Costa Ballet, and under full scholarship with Gisela Genschow of The Santa Fe Aspen Ballet. Summers spent in New York City included classes from Zvi Gotheiner, Jack Hertzog, and Graciela Kozak, among others.

Diane Williams Teacher

Diane began her dance training at age five in Bellevue, WA. She spent her teens performing and competing extensively throughout the Northwest and West Coast as a soloist and member of the youth dance company, Mo-Dazz, under the direction of Elizabeth Lanning. During that time, she earned several scholarships to further her dance training from Dance Masters of America, Tremaine and Edge Performing Arts School. She went on to study dance at the University of Washington.

Talia began dancing at the age of 3 in Chicago, Illinois. She continued her dance education at The Champaign Illinois Academy of The Arts before moving to Spokane, Washington. In Spokane Talia danced at Ballet Arts Academy and studied Royal Academy of Dance at The Dance Center of Spokane Washington. Through her young adult years she studied dance in Idaho and Texas broadening her styles of dance to Hip-hop, salsa, west coast swing and later becoming a Zumba certified instructor.

Debbie started dancing at the age of three studied at many studios in California including Riverside Ballet Arts, Ballet Pacifica, Inland Pacific Ballet, and Blankenship Ballet Company. She began seriously studying tap at age 6 and performed in several musicals such as The Whiz, Oklahoma, Music Man, and 42nd Street. In addition to her tap background, Debbie was Pilates certified in 2000 at Long Beach Dance Conditioning under the direction of Marie-Jose Blom

Mandy Pidgeon Teacher

Mandy PidgeonTeacher

Mandy grew up dancing in NH, moved to Seattle to attend Cornish College of the Arts and recieved her BFA in Dance. She taught modern, ballet, creative dance and choreography as well as managed productions for Moco Arts, Keene NH. She was assistant and then Artistic Director of Northern Lights Dance Theatre, a young touring company. Mandy worked with Living Literature, an educational dance creation and performance program for children and teens.

Susan Haines Teacher

Susan has over 15 years teaching experience at studios and universities nationwide. Susan is known for her specialized approach to training dancers that integrates her knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and Pilates with classical technique. Her dance training includes master teachers JoAnna Kneeland, David Howard, Frano Jelincic and Dagmar Kessler of the English National Ballet. She has studied at London Contemporary Dance School and with artists from the Royal Ballet at Middlesex University.

Ballet Bootcamp - Summer Intensive 2015

This 2 week summer intensive program is designed for serious ballet students, and combines training in ballet technique with a comprehensive curriculum including modern and jazz, as well as dance conditioning. Aug 10-14 and Aug 17-21 11:00-5:00pm (6 hours) - Ballet technique - Pointe - Variations - Modern/Jazz - Conditioning - Guest instructors $275/week ($550 for the 2 week bootcamp). Dancers bring their own lunch or may go off campus with parental approval.
