The Ailey School is the official school of the world renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Located in The Joan Weill Center for Dance in midtown Manhattan, the School boasts a faculty of over 100 dance professionals who are experts in their fields, 40 professional musicians, and a staff of dedicated administrators and advisors. Esteemed alumni, guided by Company Founder Alvin Ailey’s vision that dance is for everybody, take advantage of their unparalleled training to dance, choreograph, and teach throughout the world. Alumni also stayed connected by continuing to train in the 150 open School classes offered weekly, and by teaching and choreographing new works on Ailey School students.
