The New York City Ballet Workout is a fitness program by Peter Martins and the New York City Ballet available in book and DVD formats.  The workout, in its first version, contains fifty stretches and exercises that are designed for people of all ages for a stronger, more graceful and sculpted body.

Exercises and stretches found in the New York City Ballet Workout resemble the exercises a professional ballet dancer may do in a ballet class or on the side for additional stretching and strengthening.  The focus of the book is on helping people of all fitness levels begin to obtain similarities of a sculpted dancer’s body.  These features include hard, lean abs, firm buttocks, a contoured waist, sculpted legs, slim thighs, perfect posture and increased flexibility.

The workout program was originally published as a book in 1997 and has since seen a DVD release as well as a second workout of more exercises.  The book features many recognizable dancers from NYCB, including Christopher Wheeldon, Edwaard Liang, and Nikolaj Hübbe, among others.
