About California Ballet School Summer Intensive
California Ballet School offers a unique opportunity for dancers to study ballet in beautiful San Diego. The three week intensive includes daily classes in ballet technique, pointe, partnering, repertoire, variations, pilates, jazz, modern, contemporary, choreography, dance history, nutrition, and a professional photo shoot. All morning ballet classes include live accompaniment. The advanced track is geared towards experienced dancers ages 12-18. Class size is limited to offer dancers individualized attention in a nurturing but professional environment. Classes run from 9:00 am- 3:00 pm daily. All dancers are invited to perform in a final showcase, open to friends and family. The professional track is geared towards professional and pre-professional dancers ages 16-22. Dancers get to sample the life of a professional dancer, with classes that run from 9:00 am- 4:00 pm daily and include a demanding rehearsal schedule. The culminating performance will serve as an audition for the California Ballet Company, where dancers may be offered contracts for the 2016-2017 season.
