About International Ballet of Houston Summer Intensive
The 2014 International Ballet of Houston Summer Intensive is led by Master Teacher Richard d'Alton (Guest Teacher with The Royal Ballet School - London, Vienna State Opera Ballet School, Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Dresden Semperoper Ballet, Lithuanian National Opera & Ballet, Czech National Ballet, and the Norwegian National Ballet School, among many others). International Ballet of Houston
IBH was established on September 5th 2006, and since then, our dancers have acheived an array of accomplishments. Among the schools they have been accepted to include: Canada’s National Ballet School, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre, Académie de Danse Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo, Royal Ballet School of Antwerp, Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, Joffrey Academy of Dance, Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy, American Ballet Theatre – Summer Intensives, The Patel Conservatory, and Miami City Ballet School.
They have been offered scholarships to: Royal Ballet School of Antwerp (Belgium), Kirov Academy (Washington), The Ailey School – N.Y, Bolshoi Ballet Academy (US), Boston Ballet School, Texas Ballet Theater School, Orlando Ballet School, Princeton Ballet School, Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education, and Ballet Austin School.
IBH dancers have represented the United States of America in prestigious competitions including: 5th Ruldolf Nureyev IBC in Budapest, Hungary, 37th Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, 6th Helsinki International Ballet Competition in Finland, and the 3rd Sibiu IBC in Romania. They have also been invited to participate in the 2008 Moscow International Ballet Competition in Russia and the 23rd Varna International Ballet Competition in Bulgaria.
IBH Dancers have recieved many awards and recognition at competitions including: Youth America Grand Prix, New York City Dance Alliance, Jump, Legacy Dance Competition, and Hall of Fame.
IBH dancers have received professional offers to companies around the world including Ballet Sibiu (Romania), Ballet de Printemps (Canada), Ballet Florida, Ballet Austin II, Cincinnati Ballet, Louisville Ballet, BalletMet Columbus, Sarasota Ballet, Nashville Ballet, Ballet Memphis, Cork City Ballet (Ireland), Eugene Ballet, and Ballet Idaho.
