    Hey all .. who knew that dancing in socks would be a thing?! I love contemporary/more modern dance and would love to dance for a contemporary company some day.. i just have realized recently that a lot of pieces i see are in socks. Dont get me wrong they are awesome pieces and the dancers look comfortable…well of course theyre comfortable theyre wearing socks!! I dont really have a question but just wanted to say that i think its kinda cool that this is becoming something that a lot of contemporary companies do for performances.

    totally!!! it makes sense though if you think about it. sliding and gliding are way more easy in socks than ballet shoes or bare feet!

    Thats true… I think it gives pieces a more normal laided back look to it too.. its not so formal..

    yup! the dancers like you said look really comfortable too. feeling the floor is much easier and i think its flattering too!!
