Hi all, my name is Nicole and i have a 2 year old. i’ve hardly ever had any alone tie, like kid free time. i’ve always thought about trying ballet. I feel like i would be good at it. I will be starting classes soon and i would like to know what should i expect. i found these classes that start you from the absolute beginning, i would like to know how long do i take those classes before i move on to the next level?
does it depend it on my body?

Moving to the next level depends on a variety of things, all of which will be considered by your teacher. It can take awhile to get the basics down. Ballet is a great kid-free pastime, getting exercise and creativity and putting some time in for yourself. How is it going?

Congratulations on starting ballet at last! I started when I was 20 and now it’s been almost 40 years! My passion remains.

One thing I vividly remember about my very first ballet classes is learning how to tendu. I thought “what’s the big deal? I can stand here and do this all day.” I thought that for about 2 weeks (a total of 6 classes) and then the light came on. “OH!”, I thought. NOW I get it. I started pushing against the floor to get that foot to tendu. That was a game changer.

I look back on those baby ballet days with great fondness. I hope you stick with it and come up with your own baby ballerina stories.
