I went thru a similar situation myself, my parents wanted me to go to college and didn’t take my passion for dance seriously . So what did I do? Went to college to please them and danced in a local company at the same time. The whole time what I really wanted to do was move to New York and dance but I kept on trying to please everyone and continued leading 2 lives until I burned out and sunk into a major depression. Accept her for who she is and what she loves, she only has a limited time to take it as far as she can…. College will always be there, and you know what? I finally got my bachelors degree in business at 28 yrs old and I am still living paycheck to paycheck…now I’m 36 struggling to make ends meet with a “real job” and can’t wait to save up enough money to take an adult ballet class once or twice a week. Just let her figure it all out … As a parent you will never regret supporting her following her dreams
