Does anyone have experience auditioning for or dancing at Indiana University? I’m really wanting to audition this year and was wondering how selective the program is……. i know it has a reputation as a great ballet program so I’m sure a lot of people audition. Do you know if there is any kind of wait list? How many students are in each class?

I’ve never been and have never auditioned but i hear its great from my friend. This was a while ago though, maybe 5 years ago. I cant imagine much has changed with it.

The audition is a little hard because they cant just accept everyone. Of course its not just a dance school where you can pay to go, its a college program that has a limited number of spots so they have to be selective. i also had a friend who went there, but just for her freshman year. Well she stil graduated from IU just lost interest in dance. She was good though!!

I got into IU but never went. I applied for a lot of different colleges and decided to quit dancing after high school. now im a ballet teacher, go figure. anyways, that was about 10 years ago, so it may be different now but there was a lot of different skill levels there.
