trouble with pirouettes from fifth

    im struggling with pirouettes from fifth and i need some pointers. i can sometimes do triples from fourth position and i have a pretty clean double, i just dont get how to do it from fifth. i barely get around! hellllp!

    pirouettes from fifth can be tough. what helps me is to spot really fast. my teacher gave me this correction a couple years ago and it helps a ton. so when you releve, try to spot around twice quickly. if youre trying to do a single, than its barely a turn, just try to spot front and finish.

    Its important to try to get to the position as quickly as possible and then maintain it as you turn. If you can usually do two or three pirouettes from fourth but can barely get around in fifth, you may be tensing your neck. Try relaxing your neck and imagine you’re doing the pirouette from fourth.
