Has anyone ever experienced or heard of a studio putting different kids in an ensemble that qualified for NYC? Meaning replacing some of the kids with other dancers (better dancers) for the purposes of performing it in NY. This was presented to the parents at our studio as a normal thing. But it seems incredibly unfair to the kids who worked hard to qualify the ensemble. I can understand if replacing dancers if some of the kids can’t go because of finances or other commitments, but this is to make the dance better (as I understand it).
