Ballet really is the only way I can express myself besides…… you know… talking. It is difficult. It is hard on your body which I love. I really just can’t name all the reasons. There are millions and billions of ways.

I abosolutely LOVE expressing myself on stage. I really do this by lifting up in my chest and chin. I just let loose and dance. Don’t try to think about the negatives and how you have to do this and this and all that stuff. As long as you know what you’re doing, you can be free to dance. I hope this helps! :)

Have you tried giving your character a spark of excitement or personality? Obviously you don’t want to stick out to much but it brings happiness to you, and an excellent show for the audience. I hope this helps you! :)

Hello! I completely understand how you feel! Injuries are really scary. I recently got a Turnboard, I made sure they were OK by asking my teacher at ABT. She said as long as I don’t try for a million turns and I only use it for balance and placement. Turnboards will help because all you need to do is passe(not in releve). It will turn you. I really hope this helps you! :)

Hold your splits for a long time and your muscles with relax after 30 seconds. As long as you keep it up and not take long breaks without stretches you will eventually get them. I am very flexible but I certainly had to work hard for it. As said in another reply, gravity splits is an excellent choice. It takes time so be patient and just keep it up you’ll get it don’t worry! :)

A suggestion is, while at the barre, practice the height of you leg in grand battement to the front and back. Tour jetes are fun! I hope this suggestion helps you because it certainly helped me! :)
