I Love doing a high bun but my teacher doesn’t like it! Instead I sometimes do a braid from the front and pull it into the back. A really pretty braid is doing it like this…seperate two sections of hair in the front of your head Pull the rest of the hair into a bun. Grab one section of hair that you didn’t pull into a bun and braid loosely. Then grab one of the three strands and while holding the other two strands pull the one strand upwards towards your scalp, this creates a lace like braid…do the same to the other side… then pull those braids to the back of the head and secure with bobby pins finish with a hair net to stop the fly aways. This technique works the best with medium/long hair.

Meg9 if you are doing ballet for the first time then its normal that you will feel behind. And even if it’s a beginner class there will be some girls/boys who you think will be doing better than you but you might be doing better than you think, lots of dancers ( me included) think that they are doing badly but they are doing better than they think. If you are aged from 7 up then the ballet class naturally gets harder but if you work really hard and believe in yourself you can do it!

Yes you can learn off Youtube, but the main problem is that if your doing (for example) Grade 7 ballet, and your watching a YouTube clip be wary that people do get things wrong, so you might some steps wrong. But I watch YouTube clips about stuff like arabesques and I’ve seen improvement.
    Hope this helps you :)
